This honey butter Old Bay salmon is an easy dinner, absolutely delicious and super flavorful! The salmon is super-tender, with a delicious mix of spices and a tasty garlic, honey and lemon sauce.

    • You can vary cooking methods - I use an oven for this recipe, but you can use a frying pan or an Air Fryer.

    • Honey - buy good quality one, as it's one of the key ingredient of this dish.
    • Butter - I suggest using unsalted butter.
    • Lemon - lemon juice for the sauce and lemon zest or slices to decorate.

    • Fresh herbs - you can use fresh parsley or any other herb that you like!
    • Salt and black pepper to season salmon.

    🌶Variation

If you want to spice it up, add 1 tablespoon of Cajun seasoning or add a pinch of Cayenne pepper.

    • Rub salmon fillets with Old Bay seasoning.
    • In a small mixing bowl, stir together melted butter, garlic, honey, lemon juice, salt and black pepper. Pour the mixture over salmon fillets.
    • Garnish with fresh lemon slices

    • Finally garnish with parsley (or other fresh herbs) and a few fresh lemon zests.

    👩🏻‍🍳 Chef's Tips

    1. Don't overcook salmon - there's nothing more frustrating than a salmon that should have been tender but ends up dried out!
    2. Leave the skin on, as it will help the salmon keep its moisture while cooking.

    💡Frequently Asked Questions

    What to serve it with?

French fries, sweet potato fries, Basmati rice or vegetables (green beans, zucchinis, eggplants, etc...).

Can I change the cooking method?

Yes, of course! Use a frying pan on medium-high heat. Cook your salmon for 4 minutes on the skin, then turn over and cook for a further 3 minutes.
You can also use an Air Fryer : once in the air fryer basket, let it cook for 8-10 minutes at 180°C/356°F. Add 1 or 2 minutes of cooking if necessary.

    ❄️ Storage and freezing

Store - if you have leftover salmon, wait until it's perfectly cold and place it in an airtight container then in the fridge. That way, you'll be able to keep it for 2-3 days.

Reheat - I recommend that you reheat this salmon recipe in the microwave, as it's the best way to avoid overcooking the salmon.

Freeze - once perfectly cold, place your salmon fillets in a freezer bag, on which you have written the name of the recipe and the date.

Defrost - remove the salmon from the freezer bag and place on a plate. Leave to defrost slowly in the fridge for 8 to 24 hours (time will depend on the thickness of your salmon fillets).
