Discover beef with onions, a traditional Chinese recipe. On the menu: super-tender strips of beef and melting, caramelized onions. Trust me, this recipe is ultra-easy to make (even foolproof) and will dazzle your guests, who will feel likethey're at a Chinese restaurant.

Beef with onions on a plate with rice.

If you like Asian cuisine, you'll love the chicken Katsudon and pork Katsu Curry or even the chicken egg rolls.

    💙 Why you'll love it

    • It's extremely easy to make.
    • It can be done the day before for the day after.
    • It requires a handful of ingredients, which can be found everywhere.
    • It is dairy-free (although check the sauces and cornflour).

    🇨🇳 Ingredients

You'll need the following ingredients. You can find the quantities in the recipe card below.

    • Beef: I recommend buying tenderloin or striploin. As meat is the main ingredient in this recipe, I recommend that you do not neglect its quality.
    • Asian sauces: soy sauce and oyster sauce, great classics of Asian cuisine. They can be found in most supermarkets.
    • Sesame oil: also available in supermarkets.
    • Cornstarch: this will thicken the sauce and make it creamy.
    • Onions: I recommend yellow ones.
    • Rice

    ✅ Gluten-free version

To make this recipe gluten-free, buy gluten-free soy sauce and gluten-free oyster sauce. It does exist!

    🥰Chef's tip

Cook your beef over a high heat, otherwise it may spoil.

    Servings 2 personnes
    Prep Time 5 minutes mins
    Cook Time 15 minutes mins
Temps de repos 30 minutes mins
    Total Time 40 minutes mins

    Ingredients

    • 300 g de boeuf filet ou faux-filet
    • 8 cuillères à soupe de sauce soja
    • 5 cuillères à soupe d' huile de sésame
    • 45 g de Maïzena
    • 2 cuillères à soupe de sauce huître
    • 1-2 cuillères à soupe de miel optionnel
    • 240 g d' oignons
    • 120 g de riz en accompagnement
    • oignons nouveaux
    • coriandre

    Instructions
