    💙Why you'll love them

    • Easy - it's perfect for a lazy and busy weeknight meal!

    🧄Ingredients

You can find a full list of ingredients and measurements in the recipe card below. Here are a few ingredient notes to make these shrimp Teriyaki.

    • Homemade Teriyaki sauce - you technically can use store-bought Teriyaki sauce, but the homemade version, much more flavorful (plus it's ready in the blink of an eye!), is really my favorite.
    • Raw shrimp - I really recommend avoiding pre-cooked shrimp in this recipe, as the texture and flavor wouldn't be the same AT ALL.
    • Garlic - if you want to choose your garlic carefully so you do not encourage the slavery of Chinese prisoners, read my Eco Tips on the subject.

    🌶Variations & serving tips

Feel free to change this recipe to go with your tastes. I suggest several options:

    • Spice it up with a pinch of Cayenne pepper or some red pepper flakes.
    • Serve it with your favorite vegetables - these shrimp go especially well with grilled red bell peppers, green beans or broccoli, but you can add anything you like!
    • Serve it with rice - brown rice, cauliflower rice, jasmine rice, sticky rice, fried rice...the choice is yours!
    • More topping ideas - green onions or fresh lime juice/zest are delicious too!

This recipe has not been tested using any other substitutions. If you do try substituting ingredients, it may not turn out as it's meant to. Please leave a comment below letting me know if it worked out!

    👩🏻‍🍳Chef's Tips

    1. According to the FDA, most seafood should be cooked to an internal temperature of 145°F/63°C. You can use a food thermometer to check this out.
    2. If you're in a hurry - best part of this recipe is that if you don't have much time, you can skip the marinating time in the fridge.
    3. Adjust according to your preferred tastes - if you want a saltier sauce, add more soy sauce, if you prefer a sweeter sauce, add more brown sugar, etc...
