Normally, cheeses don't contain gluten, but highly processed dairy products can. If you're in any doubt, always check the labels carefully.
🐹 Are there any vegan alternatives?
It's easy to make this recipe vegan: you can replace the honey with maple syrup, rice syrup or agave syrup. Coconut nectar and dandelion jelly are two other delicious alternatives.
As for the feta cheese, simply replace it with the vegan cheese of your choice.

- Bread: with or without seeds, baguette, sandwich loaf, wheat flour, spelt flour, etc.: choose the bread you like!
- An avocado
- A lime
- Olive oil
- Strawberries
- Feta cheese: you can substitute another cheese if you don't like it.
- Flaxseeds: packed with health benefits
- Honey: I use flower honey from France, a blend of many varieties of flowers. There are so many varieties of honey, you're spoilt for choice!
- Pistachios: I prefer to buy shelled pistachios so that I don't have to remove the shells one by one.

I advise you to eat this sandwich very quickly after preparing it, as the washed strawberries won't keep and the avocado may turn black.

Strawberry avocado toast
Ingredients
- 2 large bread slices of your choice
- 1 avocado
- ½ lime
- 1 tablespoon olive oil
- ½ cup strawberries sliced
- ⅛ cup feta cheese crumbled
- 1 handful flax seeds
- 1 tablespoon honey
- 1 handful pistachios
Instructions
- Toast your bread slices in a toaster (or frying pan with a bit of butter, if you don't have one).
- In a bowl, mash your avocado with a fork, and add the lime juice and olive oil.
- Spread the avocado mixture on the bread, wash the strawberries, cut them in half and place them on top.
- Then add a few flax seeds, a drizzle of honey and some pistachios that you've crushed in a mortar (improvise if you don't have one: you can put them in a towel, for example, and tap them with a rolling pin).
