Imagine crispy wings bathed in a hot honey lemon pepper glaze - isn't it the most perfect and comforting weeknight meal? These honey lemon pepper wings are a cinch (such an easy recipe, I promise!) to make and are also the perfect balance between spicy and zesty, sweet flavors.
💙 Why you'll love it
- A recipe the whole family will love - it's one of my family's favorite wings because they are packed with flavors, super tender and juicy on the inside and so crispy on the outside!
- Basic ingredients that you can find is most supermarkets.
- Perfect appetizer for every occasion - game day such as Super Bowl, family movie night, casual birthday party or dinner, picnics or barbecues, etc...
- You can vary cooking methods - I've suggested Air Fryer (because duh, there's no olive oil so it's "healthier") or oven, so you can adapt depending on what you have at home.

✨How to make these delicious wings ?
Recipe details and quantities are in the recipe card below.
- If you have whole chicken wings, cut them with a sharp knife at the joint and remove the tip.
- Pat chicken wings well with paper towels to remove any excess fat.
- In a large bowl, combine paprika, Cayenne pepper, salt and black pepper.
- Add the wings and mix until well coated.
- Put them in the basket of an Air Fryer at 390°F for 15 minutes, flipping halfway through cooking.
- If you want to cook them in the oven: pre-heat your oven at 430°F on natural convectional mode/static heat low and bottom. Place the wings on a sheet of parchment paper, and when the oven is hot, put them inside and let them cook for 35 to 40 minutes (adapt the cooking time depending of the size of your wings), flipping halfway through cooking.
- Meanwhile, prepare the glaze by melting the butter in a frying pan.
- Add the honey, lemon zest, pressed garlic, hot sauce and lemon pepper seasoning.
- Add the sauce on the cooked wings and stir well until each one of them is perfectly coated. Enjoy!
👩🏻🍳Chef's tips
- For super crispy chicken wings (that's what we came for!) - pat your wings well with paper towels to reduce excess grease.
- If you want to make large quantities, make batches - avoid overlapping the wings in the Air Fryer basket, as this will reduce their crispiness. I advise you to make only one single layer, and several batches if necessary.
- Lemon pepper seasoning can be more or less salty, depending on the brand. So feel free to adjust the amount of fine salt you add.
💡Frequently Asked Questions
If you want to be 100% sure your wings are food-safe, you can insert a meat thermometer into them: if the internal temperature is below 330°F/165°C (according to the US Department of Agriculture), leave them to cook for a few more minutes.
I find that I'm quite sensitive to everything spicy and these wings seem to be "medium spicy" to me. But please note that my sensitivity to spicy food will of course be different from yours. To make these wings more or less spicy, increase or decrease the dose of hot sauce.
❄️ Storage and freezing
Store - I think that all of them will have been eaten because they are sooooo good, but if you have leftover wings, you can store them in airtight container for 3-4 days in the refrigerator.
Reheat - I recommend reheating on low heat. If you want to use your oven, go for 300°F. Once the oven is pre-heated, let the wings reheat for 5 to 10 minutes.
