    A quick and easy crumble

This crumble is a recipe for all types of cook, from beginner to expert. What's more, it only takes 15 minutes to prepare!

What makes it longer is the cooking time, but you can put it in the oven and leave it to cook while you do something else (just check at the end that everything's going well!).

Crumble in its dish on a board with apples and pears around it.

    How do you store it?

Allow to cool to room temperature. Once it's completely cold, you can leave it in its dish and cover it with aluminum foil, cling film, a lid or bee-wrap and put it in the fridge. You can keep it for about 3-4 days.

To reheat, place in the oven at 355°F/180°C for 5-10 minutes.

    When do you eat apples?

From August to April included, it's a long season!

    And the pears?

    From August to March included!

Spread crumble on a plate with a fork.

    Apple pear crumble with almonds

The ultimate winter crumble, as delicious as it is comforting!
    Servings 6 servings
    Prep Time 15 minutes mins
    Cook Time 45 minutes mins
    Total Time 1 hour hr

    Ingredients

    • ½ cup semi salted butter (115g)
    • ½ cup brown sugar (110g)
    • 1 ¾ cups all-purpose flour (220g)
    • 3 apples
    • 3 pears
    • 2 handfuls almonds sliced
    Metric - US Customary

    Instructions

    • Take your butter out of the fridge to soften, set aside and preheat your oven to 355°F/180°C in natural convection/static heat mode. Rinse and peel your fruit, remove the core and cut into medium-sized cubes.
    • In a hot saucepan, fry the apple cubes, covered, over a low heat for 15 minutes, stirring often to prevent sticking. After 15 minutes, add the pear cubes and cook for a further 10 minutes, covered.
    • Meanwhile, prepare the crumble batter: using your hands, mix the soft butter, sugar and flour until it resembles sand.
    • Once the fruit is cooked, strain through a sieve, taking care to retain a little juice (I usually fill a water glass).
    • Finally, place the fruit in a large ovenproof dish, add the juice evenly and sprinkle the fruit with your sand and flaked almonds, then bake for 45-50 minutes, until the top is golden. Let cool a little and enjoy!
