    🧀 Ingredients

You'll need the following ingredients to make this creamy Brie cheese. You can find the quantities in the recipe card below.

    • Bacon - strips or slices, use what you can find more easily!
    • Butter - which will add a delicious buttery flavor to the Brie cheese.
    • Onion - I used yellow onion but you can completely replace with white or red onion. Even shallot can do the job!
    • A wheel of Brie - I looooove this French cheese, with a super creamy texture! I recommend using a round whole Brie in its wooden box (try to buy one with a box, much easier to cook). I used a 8 oz Brie with triple cream (double cream is ok too), but you can completely buy a larger one and adapt quantities.
    • Honey - a drizzle of honey is game changing when eating soft cheeses, trust me!
    • Thyme and rosemary
    • Garlic - if you want to choose your garlic carefully so you do not encourage the slavery of Chinese prisoners, read my Eco Tips on the subject.
    • Bread - white bread, sourdough bread...but my favorite, as a French: crusty baguette slices!

    🍗 Variations

Feel free to change this recipe to suit your tastes. Here are several options:

    • Add fruit preserves - apricot preserves or fig jam would go very well with Brie!
    • Replace honey by maple syrup.
    • Add fresh fruits such as fig quarters, apple slices or pear slices.
    • Add nuts or cashew nuts.
    • Spice it up with ⅛ teaspoon red chili flakes or a pinch of Cayenne pepper.
    • Use a buttery puff pastry, to make Brie en croûte (which we love so much here in France!).
    • Replace Brie with Camembert, another delicious cheese straight from France.

✨How to make this Air Fryer Brie?

Here are the step-by-step instructions. You can find recipe details and exact measurements in the recipe card below.

    • In a small frying pan, add bacon and let it cook on high heat until golden, stirring often so it doesn't stick. Then reserve.
    • Meanwhile in another small frying pan on high heat, add butter and sliced onion. Add water and let it cook until water completely evaporates. Cook for a further 5 minutes, until slices are golden.

    • Prepare the Brie: leave it in its box. Slice it lengthwise, then make cuts widthwise to form a checkerboard pattern: take care not to cut all the way through, as it's important that the base of the Brie remains intact so it holds together.
    • Add melted butter and honey.

    👩🏻‍🍳 Chef's tips

    1. Use an entire Brie wheel - if you use half a Brie or a wedge, it won't work because you'll just end up with a mound of melted flat cheese, complicated to serve and to eat.
    2. Let the Brie in its wooden box to help keep its shape while cooking. Just make sure to remove any packaging.
    3. If you don't have a wooden box - adjust the cooking time as the Brie will not keep its shape as long as if it's in a box...
    4. Cooking time varies according to the size and texture of your cheese - with a 8 oz round Brie, it took me 7-8 minutes to be ready!

    💡Frequently Asked Questions

Do I need to take the rind off Brie before baking?

No, you really don't. It's also what helps the Brie to keep its shape while cooking.

Can I bake it in the oven?

Of course you can! Place in a preheated oven (355°F/180°C) and bake for 20 to 30 minutes.

    ❄️ Storage

Store - let your Brie cool and once it's cold, store it in an airtight container in the fridge for 2 days.

Reheat - put it back in the Air Fryer basket at 355°F/180°C for 4 to 5 minutes (be careful not to let the bacon and onions burn).
